The gimmick is gold. They need to get him appearing on other streamers show in addition to him doing his own kayfabe one. It's such an easy character type to hate because so many streamers are just complete pricks, douchebags, a**holes, etc. If they fully commit to it like they did with Toni Storm and MJF has with any character he has ever had in his entire career then guy could have a generational heel run.
This is actually exactly the next step he needed for his career - this cocky heel works for him

I would like to see him wrestle a bunch of the old/older guys. An obnoxious and cocky 21 year old Gen Z guy pissing off elder millennials and grizzled veteran Gen X wrestlers is a relatable story that pretty much writes itself. They had that dynamic with the Jericho feud but there's more that can be done because they had to keep it relatively short because of Jericho fatigue.

Give him a squad of some other Gen Z wrestlers too and let them terrorize AEW. with the most annoying Gen Z antics. This could be a good way to rehab Hook and make him actually interesting for once. The Swirl could slide in there as the tag team. Then there's Jordan Oliver and Alec Price down in ROH who Wayne has a ton of history with. Top Flight could be an option too if they get motivated.

Most of the rest of the men's roster in that applicable age range are either higher on the card than Wayne or tied up in their own faction and doesn't make sense to have them leave at the moment, like Garcia and Yuta, for example

Would be a good spot to bring Billie Sarks up from ROH, but a ton of that women's roster is in that Gen Z age range so here are plenty of options to work with there.

What about the swirl they made a cocky promo in Japan it could actually be a good pairing

WWE coming to the YUM Center on Saturday, December 5 for a house show I guess. May go but I'm going to at least wait until after this weekend to make sure half the roster doesn't get taken out by the Iranians.
I've not been to many house shows but I have generally enjoyed the ones I went to. I bet it would be a good time.

Oh god they still included the voting part to determine winners for the John Cena Classic? Why even have matches if the results don't matter?! Might as well just call it the Participation Trophy Classic!

That's a good move for him, kind of messes up that unsanctioned match on Wednesday though which I assume will be treated as his farewell match for NXT. He should lose to put over the NXT guy on his way out, but it would look really bad for him to lose that match after joining the 946.

Also, I thought he was babyface in NXT, so they debut him as a main roster heel while he's still got a babyface NXT match to do?

Kenny Omega won what was effectively an eliminator match at the New Japan show today so he will likely be main eventing the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom in January

NJPW emptying the clip for Wrestle Kingdom next year!

Moxley should be facing his young boy Shota Umino instead. It would make for the much better story.

They should do that every year, IMHO, and have some of the AEW guys actually take losses. That makes a fun crossover.
I think the only one that has any chance of winning is Mox since they are all heels in New Japan. No sense in the AEW guys getting the one up on all the youngin babyfaces for the biggest show of the year. Plus AEW doesn't need any of these guys winning, not that it would make much of a difference in AEW even if they did, but New Japan needs the AEW help at this point to put over their next generation because of departures and New Japan waiting so long to push them that they waited until all top guys that could do it either left, retired, or are washed.

Plus a Tokyo Dome show with their current roster isn't going to sell very well without a big hook like a Tanahashi retirement. That was the last major star they had left when he retired last year and that man had been needing to retire for years. I don't really know if MJF would be a draw in Japan but Omega, Ospreay, and Moxley certainly are. That's three established and proven Tokyo Dome main event level guys. Gabe Kidd is an upper midcarder there so obviously that's not going to sell tickets for the Dome.

Lots of good examples over the last few years of wrestlers being willing to bet on themselves since AEW came around. Makes it a lot easier to do so when there are two companies with money and they don't both have the same vision of wrestling and what makes someone a star in a wrestling company.

Used to be if you flunked out in WWE it was virtually a lock you were never going to ever see a big money contract in wrestling ever again. It wasn't impossible to make it back to WWE, but it was very unlikely. WWE used to always say go do what Drew McIntyre did but Drew McIntyre was an exceptional case and not the norm. Like Ilja Dragunov is someone I don't see WWE ever wanting back, he just does not fit that roster whatsoever.

Not to say there wasn't other ways to make big money before AEW, but it required really grinding away on the indies and doing it all on your own with supplemental income like merch, meet and greets, etc. Didn't have a company to do all your merch for you and arranging all those other things unless you wanted to work for cheap in TNA and a dying ROH or work in Japan.

And now I think it's even easier to get back to WWE now than it used to be with WWE being so willing to sign anyone with a pulse who leaves AEW.

Let's face it...competition is good for everyone involved. WWE, AEW, TNA, and the Japanese outfits all of them being healthy is good for both the workers and the fans as well.

I can’t believe WWE isn’t running anything up against Worlds End on December 19 when they are doing two PLEs on December 12 and ridiculously two Raws just two days later on December 14. WWE is begging for people to tune out of their own product by doing that.

Maybe they finally learned that counter programming an AEW PPV doesn’t work?

Wish more wrestlers would bet on themselves. Too many in AEW and WWE that seem content with being booked poorly, not being booked at all, or content with just going thru the motions because they got a steady paycheck.

I get not wanting to rock the boat and risk losing a paycheck, but if you’re in AEW that’s not really a legit excuse. Unless you’re basically a bottom of the barrel type wrestler, TK is going to offer you a new contract and he certainly isn’t going to fire you unless you really earn it. I believe I can count on one hand the number of wrestlers who got straight up fired for non-criminal reasons. Maybe two hands but probably would need the whole second hand

Also I just want to say I love the idea of holding those shows at Disney. Hopefully they got a unique looking venue they can host it in instead of some boring events space.
