I was just working on the Reidsville stats/records and noticed that Rams' kicker Zach Baber made 57 consecutive PATs this season, starting with his last kick of the third game and ending with the second kick in the Mountain Heritage game. He ended 74 of 77 overall.

With a less reliable kicker, I'm sure Reidsville would have gone for two. It's tough taking a sure point off the board.

Baber's 57 straight fell one short of Brad Green's school record 58 straight that ended only when his career ended in the championship game against Edenton in 2016. (Brad, FYI, had a solid freshman season at Ferrum College).

Here's the top 6 in consecutive PAT kicks in N.C. history (according to the NCHSAA record book, which hasn't been updated yet).
77, Woody Parrish, Davie County (Nov.19, 2010-Nov. 9, 2012)
67, Ryan Beeson (Ragsdale), 2000-2001
67, Trey Bridges (Shelby), 1999-2000 (final 17 in ’99 and all 50 PAT attempted in 2000)
61, Connor Barth (Hoggard), 2002-03
58, Brad Green (Reidsville), 2016 (ended career with last 58 in a row)
57, Zach Baber (Reidsville), 2017 (started with last kick in third game, ended with second kick in 15th game)
57, Tyler McMahan (Olympic), 2009

Huge credit for the last two years of Reidsville kicking record goes to long snapper Cole Setliff and holder Titus Jones.

Wrh hill kicker from last year broke the record...
The only things I see in the record book for Yahir Cano is 395 career points, which is second in state history:
POINTS SCORED BY KICKER, CAREER:
428
, Tyler Lewis (Albemarle), 2000-2003 26 field goals, 350 extra points, 2000-2003;
395, Yahir Cano (Wallace-Rose Hill), 2013-2016 (320 PAT, 25 FG);
297, Shon Rowser (East Duplin), 33 field goals, 198 extra points, 1995-98

and Season PAT ... Cano had 77 in 2016, which ranks 16th on the NCHSAA list ...

Obviously the NCHSAA record book needs a lot of updating ... they don't have Cano on the list of career extra points with 320, which would rank second to Tyler Lewis, even though they obviously have that info from that previous graph. They also don't have Brad Green, who would rank fourth (with 251) behind Lewis, Cano and Chris Tarnowski of Murphy High.

Question: Is Cano kicking in college?

I'm sure the school reported those records to the NCHSAA ... they don't take them from anybody else and all must be documented.
