Carter Earns Academic Honor
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (February 9, 2017) -- West Virginia University men’s basketball junior Jevon Carter has been named to the 2016-17 Academic All-District II men’s basketball first team as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
A sport management major with a 3.4 GPA, Carter has started all 24 games for the Mountaineers this season. He is averaging 11.5 points, 4.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game. Carter currently leads the Big 12 Conference in steals with 70 on the season.
Along with Carter, Joe Sherburne of UMBC, Cameron Johnson of Pitt, Steven Cook of Princeton and Austin Loop of Marshall earned all-district first-team honors.
Carter, a native of Maywood, Illinois, is now a candidate for Academic All-America honors.
