Nick Saban challenges Alabama fans ahead of ESPN College GameDay

Two people on the ESPN College GameDay set will feel right at home on Saturday in Tuscaloosa. Host Rece Davis spent his college days at Alabama and Nick Saban only racked up six national championships as the Crimson Tide’s head coach. Now, the duo features a ranked matchup with Vanderbilt coming to town for one of the games of the weekend.
Saban decided to challenge Alabama fans ahead of the broadcast, wanting to make sure the energy is felt. His goal appears to showcase how passionate and energetic people are about the Crimson Tide. Not a bad spokesperson to get the people fired up.
“College GameDay is back in Tuscaloosa this Saturday,” Saban said. “It’s my experience, on game day, that it’s a great opportunity for each institution to show the spirit, the energy, and the enthusiasm for their program and the football team. This is a great opportunity because I always thought we had the best energy and enthusiasm and spirit of any place in the country in the years that I was the coach here. This is a great opportunity for everyone to come out and show the world what a great spirit we have at the University of Alabama. So I’ll see you Saturday morning and Roll Tide.”
Saban knows a thing or two about College GameDay being on campus. ESPN came to Tuscaloosa on 14 different occasions when Saban was the head coach. He possessed a 9-5 record, making up around a sixth of his losses with the program. Part of what comes with consistently playing in high-leverage SEC games.

Last season provided a special moment when Saban got to return as a broadcaster for the first time. Facing Georgia in Bryant-Denny Stadium brought nearly the entire college football world. Saban, alongside his wife Miss Terry, both picked Alabama to win the game, and wound up being correct.
At the time of posting, no guest picker has been announced. However, Saban is undoubtedly going to pick his long-time team once again. Saban going two-for-two while being on-site is exactly what everybody in crimson wants.
Having a large crowd behind him to go crazy during the show is what he is after. Whether or not fans receive the message, we will have to wait and see until the aerial shot from ESPN kicks off coverage. Hopefully, a fun show is ahead before the 2:30 p.m. CT kick.
