Colorado’s over-under win total this year was three, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. The Buffaloes hit that total right away, winning their first three games before getting blown out by Oregon on the road last week.

That game likely showed just how far Colorado has to go under Deion Sanders to compete with some of the best teams. The Buffaloes’ roster turnaround was impressive as Sanders used the transfer portal to overhaul a team that went 1-11 a year ago. But he’s been outspoken about the need for more “dawgs” to get CU to a championship level.

As Colorado prepares to take on No. 8 USC this week, Sanders double down, saying the Buffs aren’t too far away from success.

“I said the same thing in Jackson, Mississippi. Everything that we’re doing has been done already. God has already shown us the blueprint,” Sanders said on Undisputed with Skip Bayless, Keyshawn Johnson and Michael Irvin. “What I mean by that is I know where my weaknesses are, we know what we need. And we’re not far away from that, and we know already half of that already has been secured. So you’d better get me now, because I know when we put what we want out there collectively and have a spring with them, it’s gonna be something to behold.

“It’s going to be challenge to run up and down the field on us without two Travis Hunters out there on the corners and guys just going out there to go get it like Key used to go get it, like ‘Playmaker’ went to go get it.”

Deion Sanders on Colorado: ‘We know what we’re about to bring to the table’

Last week’s game against Oregon didn’t go well for Colorado, which was without Hunter due to injury. It was all Ducks as they blew out the Buffaloes 42-6. After the game, Sanders said critics better get him “right now” because it’s the worst his team will be this season.

As for what he meant by that, he said he knows what CU is capable of, which is why he thinks that game might be an outlier.

“We know what we’re about to bring to the table and we’re excited about it,” Sanders said. “But we’ve still got to focus and keep the main thing the main thing. That’s what I meant by that. You’d better get me now. Get me now.”

Sanders and Colorado will have a chance to make quite a statement on Saturday against USC, which kicks off at noon ET — or 9 a.m. PT.
