Former Georgia OL Dan Inman passes away at 41

Former Georgia offensive lineman Dan Inman passed away on Monday at 41 years old, Jake Rowe of DawgsHQ reports.
Inman played for the Bulldogs from 2003 through 2006, where he was a four-year letterwinner. According to his bio on X, he was most recently serving as the offensive line coach at Clarke Central High School.
Inman was a 6 foot 7, 300 pound offensive tackle for the Bulldogs. He was a two-time All-SEC honoree during his junior and senior seasons. He was known for his grit, something that is a staple for Georgia offensive lineman historically. Inman fit that bill perfectly.
That was show from a report in Sept. 2005 where Inman was named SEC offensive lineman of the week after leading the Bulldogs to a 44-7 victory over Louisiana-Monroe. UGA’s offense totaled 543 yards — 280 of them coming on the ground during that matchup. During the contest, the team averaged 10.2 yards per play and 9.7 yards per rush on the day.
Inman was credited for much of that success up front, and earned SEC honors for his work along the offensive line.

The news of Inman’s passing comes shortly after the tragic news that fellow former Bulldog Gleaton Jones recently died in a car accident. Jones died after sustaining injuries in the car accident which occurred while he was on a hunting trip.
Jones, 21, was a member of the 2021 national championship-winning Georgia team.
It’s unclear whether Georgia will honor Inman and Jones ahead or during their run in the College Football Playoff. They won’t have another home game this season, so the football program may opt for a later date to appropriately pay their respects.
Georgia football will next take the field on New Year’s Day, where they’ll face the winner of Indiana and Notre Dame in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. They earned a first-round bye despite having two losses, but after defeating Texas in overtime during the SEC Championship game.
