Humboldt (Tenn.) three-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers has committed to Georgia.

Shivers chose the Bulldogs over Auburn, Ole Miss, Oregon and Tennessee. He is Georgia’s first addition to the class of 2025 this year.

Shivers is the No. 782 overall prospect and No. 66 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 24 player in Tennessee.

On3 ranks Shivers as the No. 27 defensive lineman in the cycle. He’s also a top-10 player in the Volunteer State, according to the updated 2025 On300.

The 6-foot-4, 350-pounder visited Athens last summer and was drawn to the winning culture that Kirby Smart and his staff have developed. Multiple assistants on the UGA staff have kept contact, including DL coach Tray Scott and director of recruiting David Cooper.

“I feel great about them,” Shivers told DawgsHQ earlier this month. “We’ve been able to build a great relationship. We talk day in and day out. We talk football, and we talk school. They’ve told me I’d be an inside guy. They want me to be three years and done. Put in the work and move on to the next level.”

Bulldogs add to No. 3 recruiting class in the nation

With the addition of Shivers, Georgia now has six commitments in its 2025 recruiting class — which ranks No. 3 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Shivers is the second DL in the fold for UGA, joining Manchester (Ga.) five-star Justus Terry, the No. 8 overall recruit in the cycle.

Not only is Terry also the No. 2 DL and No. 2 player in Georgia, but he’s also one of three top-100 commits in the Dawgs’ class. He’s flanked by Folkston (Ga.) Camden County four-star tight end Elyiss Williams and Buford (Ga.) four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte.

Williams is the top-ranked TE in the On3 Industry Ranking and a top-30 recruit overall. Perlotte is the longest-tenured pledge in the class, as he committed to Georgia on Dec. 2, 2022.

“I’ve been committed to Georgia since right after my sophomore year, going on two years being committed there. Just staying loyal, but looking around, seeing other opportunities that I can have. Being committed to Georgia is such a high standard, everybody wants somebody like that,” Perlotte told On3’s Phillip Dukes last month. “Right now I’m locked in with the Dawgs.”

The class also features Alpharetta (Ga.) four-star TE Ethan Barbour — the No. 10 player at his position in the cycle. He rounds a strong spine to the UGA class alongside Shivers and Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove three-star running back Bo Walker.
