Mark Ingram emphatically makes prediction on Georgia's 9.5 win total in 2025

FOX Big Noon Kickoff panel member and three-time Pro Bowl running back Mark Ingram made his feelings known about Georgia‘s 9.5 win total on the May 27 edition of “The Triple Option” podcast, hosted by Rob Stone.
After originally predicting 10 wins, Rob Stone brought up the quarterback battle between redshirt junior Gunner Stockton and redshirt freshman Ryan Puglisi.
“Oh yes,” Ingram said. “Carson Beck-less. Gunner Stockton and Ryan P. Ryan P. Coach [Urban Meyer], what do they say if you don’t have one [quarterback] you have… none. Minus, under the nine and a half for the Georgia Bulldogs,” an emphatic Ingram stated.
Ingram, who won a Heisman Trophy and a National Championship with Alabama in 2009, officially predicted that Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs would go 9-3 with losses to Alabama, Texas and Florida.
Georgia has won 10 regular season games in seven of nine seasons
Since Kirby Smart took over as head coach at Georgia in 2016, the Bulldogs have won less than 10 regular season games just twice. In that first season, Georgia was 7-5 with losses to No. 23 Ole Miss, No. 11 Tennessee, Vanderbilt, No. 14 Florida and Georgia Tech. The second and only other time Georgia has won less than 10 regular season games in the Smart era was the COVID-19 affected 2020 regular season, in which the Bulldogs played just nine conference games (7-2).

Who knows if Ingram is really projecting less than 9.5 wins, as he very well could be letting his Alabama bias show. During his time in Tuscaloosa, Ingram’s Crimson Tide were 1-0 with a 41-30 win over the then No. 3 ranked Bulldogs on September 27. In that game, a freshman Ingram rushed for just 17 yards on seven carries.
Georgia will look to get back to its championship ways this season, as the Bulldogs fell to eventual runner-ups Notre Dame in the Quarterfinals of the 2024 College Football Playoff (Sugar Bowl). That was the game where Bulldog fans got their first true glimpse at the potential future in Gunner Stockton, as he started in place of an injured Carson Beck.
In the loss, Stockton threw for 234 yards and one touchdown. It’s still up in the air whether or not Stockton or Puglisi will start the 2025 season as Georgia’s starting signal caller. Whoever it is will be crucial in attempting to get the Bulldogs to at least 10 regular season wins for the eighth time in 10 seasons.
