Chris Hilton Jr., CJ Daniels injury updates: Latest on LSU WRs entering Texas A&M game

LSU wide receiver CJ Daniels is a game-time decision for the Tigers’ game against Texas A&M, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Meanwhile, Chris Hilton Jr. is slated to play.
“Sources: LSU WR CJ Daniels is a game-time decision against Texas A&M tonight,” Thamel wrote on Twitter. “He’ll warm up and attempt to play. WR Chris Hilton Jr. (ankle) will play for the first time in 2024 today, he’s brings straight-line speed and ability to take the top off a defense. A key LSU addition.”
The Tigers had more than a dozen players on the initial injury report that dropped on Wednesday, including the likes of Hilton. His status will bear monitoring going forward.
Beyond that, LSU had 12 players already listed as out for the contest against Texas A&M. The Aggies had a much more reasonable injury report.

LSU has injury concerns ahead of game against Texas A&M
While five players were ruled out, including offensive linemen Mark Nabou and Chase Bisontis, only one was listed past that. That was backup quarterback Jaylen Henderson, who was tabbed as doubtful for the contest.
The Saturday showdown in College Station, Texas, is also a particularly meaningful one for the two head coaches involved, as Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko served as defensive coordinator under Brian Kelly when the latter was head coach at Notre Dame.
Elko didn’t shy away from how Kelly helped his career.
“Oh yeah, I learned a lot,” Elko said. “Brian’s a really, really successful head coach that maybe isn’t into the huge self-promotion business. He’s the winningest coach in Notre Dame football history, I don’t know that that’s something that rolls off of everyone’s tongue. He’s been successful everywhere he’s been.”
