LSU first baseman Ryan Costello enters NCAA Transfer Portal

LSU first baseman Ryan Costello has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. He’s a former Top 100 recruit, ranked as Perfect Game’s No. 92 overall player and the No. 2 first baseman in the 2024 high school class.
During the 2024-25 season, Costello played in 15 games for LSU. He amassed eight at-bats, walking four times but never swinging for a hit. He struck out four times.
The Tigers will face Little Rock in an Elimination Game at the Baton Rouge Regional on Monday. That game will have its first-pitch at 9:00 p.m. ET. LSU must win to keep their season alive, and their dreams of another national title in play.
On Sunday, LSU fell to Little Rock, so this will be a rematch. They simply couldn’t find enough offense after an early rally. The Tigers plated three runs in the first inning against Arkansas-Little Rock. They’d manage to scratch out only one more the rest of the way.
With Arkansas-Little Rock scoring two in the second inning, four in the third and four in the eighth that made for an uphill climb. The Tigers simply couldn’t get there, and now they’ll have to play a winner-take-all game.
