LSU the latest school to offer 4-star safety Ronan Hanafin
Burlington (Mass.) Buckingham Browne & Nichols School safety Ronan Hanafin has been offered by LSU, he announced Wednesday night.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder is the No. 399 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 38 safety and the No. 5 junior in the state of Massachusetts.
The four-star prospect told On3’s Joseph Hastings that he has locked in four of his five official visits in the month of June, and is waiting to see which program will get his fifth.
Hanafin will trip to Clemson on June 3-5, then head to Notre Dame June 10-12. The next weekend, he’ll be at Nebraska (June 17-19), followed by Boston College (June 24-26). He also expects to make another visit to Alabama, but hasn’t yet locked in a date for that.

He has already made unofficial visits to each of his official destinations, with the most recent trips coming to Clemson and Alabama at the end of March. But as of now, Notre Dame is the overwhelming favorite to land Hanafin, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
Most schools recruiting him could see him playing on either side of the ball. Ronan Hanafin hasn’t set any sort of a commitment timeline with a busy school and lacrosse schedule. But it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him take each of his five visits before a decision comes.
“I’m trying to make all of the right choices,” he added. “I take my commitment very seriously.”
