Missouri and Mississippi State are set to clash in a Week 12 SEC matchup, with the game taking place at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, MO. Missouri is coming off a 38-17 home loss to No. 3 Texas A&M (marking its third loss in its last four games), while Mississippi State was run off its own field 41-21 by No. 5 Georgia.

Ahead of Week 12’s matchup, the early point spread and more have been revealed. All odds are courtesy of BetMGM. Missouri has opened as a 6.5-point favorite over Mississippi State. The over/under is set at 57.5 points.

These programs met last season and have previously met just five times dating back to 1981. No. 23 Missouri rolled Mississippi State 39-20 in Starkville thanks to three rushing touchdowns from Tiger running back Marcus Carroll. Missouri lead the all-time series 3-2, although Mississippi State has won two of three meetings since the Tigers joined the SEC in 2012.

After opening the season with College Football Playoff hopes following a 5-0 start, things have gone downhill for Missouri. The Tigers have dropped three of their past four games (No. 8 Alabama, No. 10 Vanderbilt, and No. 3 Texas A&M), with their only win coming against Auburn in that span. They took a massive hit in the loss to Vanderbilt, as quarterback Beau Pribula suffered a season-ending ankle injury.

True freshman quarterback Matt Zollers has assumed duties at the position, but is still adjusting to play in the SEC. He made his first career start in the loss to Texas A&M, passing for just 77 yards.

Mississippi State meanwhile opened the year 4-0, including a home victory over No. 12 Arizona State. Since that however, the Bulldogs are 1-5 with their lone conference win coming against Arkansas. Those five losses have come by an average of just 11.6 points. Just one win away from their first bowl appearance since 2022, the Bulldogs are sure to go all out for a victory with their final game of the season being against No. 6 Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.
