The Ohio State 2022 recruiting class is built around Dayton (Ohio) Archbishop Alter five-star linebacker C.J. Hicks.

Hicks is the type of player you build a defense around, and it looks like he is doing some recruiting to help build a defense he wants to play around too.

Hicks posted a photo Sunday with Duncanville (Texas) High four-star EDGE Omari Abor on Twitter. The photo shows both players dressed in the all-scarlet color rush uniform and captioned with “Let ’em know…”

Both players were at the Horseshoe on Saturday for the Buckeyes’ 33-24 victory over Penn State.

Omari Abor is a top target for the Buckeyes

Omari Abor is one of the top uncommitted prospects in the country. He is the No. 58 overall recruit in the 2022 On3 Consensus and the fifth-best uncommitted EDGE in the country. Ohio State is one of Abor’s top five schools along with Alabama, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M.

He is a priority for the Buckeyes and their third-ranked recruiting class.

Lettermen Row recruiting analyst Jeremy Birmingham said last month that Abor is one of the top targets for the Buckeyes remaining on the board.

“The Buckeyes have zero defensive line commitments and though they’re young at the position at tackle, it’s a veteran group on the edge and those guys need to be replaced,” Birmingham said. “Defensive end development and production is the bread and butter of Larry Johnson’s career, so his pursuit of Caden CurryOmari AborKenyatta JacksonEnai White and others is paramount to a successful conclusion in the Class of 2022.”

Ohio State has since picked up the commitment of Jackson but the Buckeyes are still looking for more edge rushers.

Abor would become the fourth-highest commit in Ohio State’s recruiting class behind Hicks, Little Elm (Texas) consensus four-star cornerback Terrance Brooks and Marysville (Ohio) High four-star linebacker Gabe Powers
