Jurrion Dickey releases statement, thanks Oregon fans following dismissal

Former Oregon wide receiver Jurrion Dickey recently departed the program and enrolled at California JUCO Diablo Valley College. That followed a suspension with the Ducks.
But on his way out from Oregon, Dickey left a classy message for the program that gave him his first shot out of high school. He penned a note and posted it to Twitter on Sunday night.
“I want to take the time out and thank the Oregon community for the incredible support we’ve received from the very beginning,” Jurrion Dickey wrote. “From the moment we arrived, my family and I were welcomed with open arms, and that kindness has truly left a lasting impact on us. The love, encouragement, and unity of the Duck community will always hold a special place in our hearts.”
Dickey, a former superstar recruit, was suspended at Oregon following a couple violations of team rules. Coach Dan Lanning noted that two were of particular interest in his case: being respectful and being on time.
As a true freshman in 2023, Jurrion Dickey appeared in five games for the team. He took a redshirt as a result, with his lone statistical activity coming in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl against Liberty, a single catch for seven yards.

He was more involved as a second-year player in 2024, appearing in 10 of Oregon’s 14 games. Once again, Dickey finished the season with one catch for seven yards.
He’ll have a chance to make a much bigger statistical impact at his future stops, given his sheer talent level. He’ll likely use his stop in JUCO as a reset of sorts. In any case, he was effusive in his praise of his time at Oregon.
“We are forever thankful for the way this family has embraced us, and we’re excited for all that lies ahead,” Dickey wrote. “Your support continues to inspire us everyday, and we’ll carry that pride wherever the journey takes us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and as always, Go Duck Family!”
Jurrion Dickey played high school football at Menlo-Atherton (CA), where he was a five-star prospect. In fact, Dickey was the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.
