3-star EDGE Mondrell Dean commits to Purdue

Charleston (W.V.) South Charleston EDGE Mondrell Dean has announced his commitment to Purdue. He chose the Boilermakers over offers from Cincinnati and West Virginia among others.

Dean is the No. 1,143 overall prospect and No. 96 EDGE in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in West Virginia.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound pass rusher took an official visit to Purdue on the weekend of Jan. 28. He also took official visits to Jacksonville State and Miami (Ohio) on Jan. 14 and Jan. 16, respectively.
