Spencer Rattler helped earn South Carolina one of their biggest wins of the season in Saturday’s 30-24 victory over Texas A&M. The Gamecocks came out of their bye week and earned their fourth consecutive win. Based on his play and the work done by teammates around him, Rattler was more than pleased with their combined performances.

Rattler spoke about the passing output during their win over the Aggies in media after the win. He says his teammates helped him manage a good game that was able to defeat a good defense. That’s why he’s also excited about what South Carolina can do from here.

“I feel like I managed it well. Shoutout to the guys up front. They gave me a lot of time back there. There were some times they had stuff covered and I wanted to get outside the pocket to find something. Sometimes it was there, sometimes it wasn’t and I threw it away. But everybody around me played a great game,” said Rattler. “We’ve still got a lot to clean up. I’ve got a lot to clean up but, overall, that’s a great defense we just played. We had a lot of explosive plays and a lot of big time plays that led up to this win. I’m excited about it.”

Rattler finished 12/25 for the night for 168 yards. He didn’t throw a touchdown but he helped put his offense in position to rush for three scores. What’s even more important, though, is that he didn’t throw any interceptions even with one lost fumble on the evening.

While they’re not eye-catching, Rattler’s numbers helped South Carolina earn a win and that’s all that matters. The Gamecocks can only hope now that they continue to lead to more tallies in the win column as soon as next weekend when they face Missouri.
