Tennessee hires former Auburn AD Allen Greene as senior deputy AD

Tennessee is bolstering its administrative staff quite substantially, announcing Wednesday the hire of Allen Greene as a senior deputy athletics director.

Greene served as Auburn’s athletics director from 2018-22.

He arrives at Tennessee after spending the previous year at Ole Miss as senior deputy athletics director/external relations and business development. In that role, he served as the Rebels’ chief operating officer, overseeing external operations and maintaining oversight of the football program.

“I’m very appreciative for this opportunity to once again be a teammate with Danny (White) and join the talented executive team he has assembled at Tennessee,” Greene said in a press release. “The Tennessee brand is second to none and I am looking forward to help propel UT athletics in this modern era of our industry. My family and I can’t wait to get started on Rocky Top.”

Greene has ties to White from his time working on Buffalo’s administrative staff while White was athletics director there from 2012-15. Greene succeeded White as athletics director there, serving from 2015-18 until taking the Auburn job.

Now the two will be reunited working at Tennessee.
