Jimbo Fisher responds to Desmond Howard picking Texas A&M to win the National Championship

Plenty of expectations are on Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies as they enter the 2022 college football season. Although they share an SEC division with No. 1 Alabama, No. 6 Texas A&M is not far behind in the national picture. On College GameDay, analyst Desmond Howard went as far as to pick the Aggies to win the whole thing this fall.
However, Fisher didn’t catch that prediction although he said he appreciates Howard’s enthusiasm during his press conference on Monday.
“I didn’t hear that so that’s great for Desmond. (We) appreciate the confidence. I didn’t know that happened,” said Fisher.

Not to say the Aggies are incapable of winning it all, but Howard’s picks raised some eyebrows during the broadcast. Nonetheless, the former Heisman had Texas A&M handling business against Pitt before winning it all over Michigan in the national title game.
“I got the Aggies winning it ultimately,” said Howard. “I have Texas A&M, Pitt, Baylor and Michigan. Michigan (will) play the Aggies and I have Jimbo Fisher winning the national championship for Texas A&M.”
As a preseason Top-10 team, many are ready to see Fisher finally fulfill his promise of getting the Aggies back on the nation’s biggest stage. Howard’s prediction is just the latest in a line of Texas A&M belief this season. After recruiting well and picking up steam in the SEC, it’s time for Fisher and company to take the next step.

Next, Desmond Howard agrees with Herbstreit with a Baylor repeat in the Big 12. As for the Heisman, he’s not sold on Anderson. He did mention he wouldn’t argue voting for him if he has a ‘special season’ of ‘Heisman moments’. Moreover, Pittsburgh, Michigan, Utah and Texas A&M are Howard’s picks for conference champions, going against the grain.
As for David Pollack, he predicted the Oklahoma Sooners to win the Big 12 under Brent Venables. He then said the Heisman Trophy is wide open due to a bevy of players contending on the same team. Continuing, Clemson is Pollack’s pick for the ACC, Ohio State for the Big Ten, Utah for the Pac-12 and Alabama for the SEC.
Finally, Lee Corso has Clemson capturing the ACC, Ohio State winning the Big Ten, the Texas Longhorns for the Big 12, Utah out in the Pac-12 and Alabama becoming the champions of the SEC.
As for the College Football Playoff, Herbstreit has Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia and Baylor as his four, with the Buckeyes defeating the Crimson Tide to win it all. Corso is in agreement, but has Utah making the CFP over Baylor.
On the other hand, Pollack predicted Ohio State defeating Alabama in the title game as well, with Clemson and Utah also making it to the dance. The real fun came when Howard made his picks, predicting Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M to become champions over Michigan in the final, with Baylor and Pittsburgh also making it to the College Football Playoff.
