Southern California’s highly touted defensive end Korey Foreman was one of the nation’s top recruits coming out of high school. He was unanimously rated as a five-star prospect according to most recruiting services, including On3’s class of 2021 rankings. The Corona, California, native is rated as the fifth-best overall prospect in the 2021 class, according to On3.

It should come as no surprise that many members of the national media have pegged Foreman to be an instant star for the Trojans, including Matt Leinart of FOX Sports.

Here’s what he had to say about the nation’s fifth-ranked prospect in the 2021 recruiting class and the impact he could have for USC.

“I’m talking about the impact he’s going to have off the field and on the field,” he said. “First off, we just saw [he’s] the highest rated recruit in 12 years–since Matt Barkley. So what that tells me is, obviously USC has not been able to keep these homegrown kids from Orange County, LA, home. Because they’ve had a lot of the top ones, go back to Bryce Young, a couple of years ago. One of the top rated quarterbacks in the country, right in their back yard and he left.

“The impact off-the-field, getting a guy like Korey Foreman. The hope is to have that domino effect of starting to get these types of players back into the USC pipeline on both sides of the football. Especially with NIL and the way that college is. USC is still a massive brand. So I think his impact off-the-field, with just being that recruit, recruiting other players in LA, in that area. I think that could be huge. Then on the field…all of the coaches are saying he is as good as advertised and he is everything they hoped he would be.”

Foreman originally committed to Clemson last January, but decommitted from the Tigers in April 2020. He decommitted from the Tigers due to their visit policy. The California native wanted to take visits to other schools after committing to the Tigers. Clemson’s visit policy requires that once a player commits to the Tigers, he can no longer take other visits.

Jaxson Dart

Another massive commitment the Trojans landed in the 2021 recruiting class was Jaxson Dart, a quarterback from Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) that ranked sixth-overall in On3’s class of 2021 rankings. The LA Times and many other media outlets have tabbed Dart as the quarterback of the future for the Trojans.

He’s an ultra-accurate passer and the freshman has been drawing rave reviews from many observers of USC’s fall practices.

Korey Foreman and the USC Trojans kick off their season against San Jose State on Sept. 4.
