USC OF Brayden Dowd enters NCAA Transfer Portal

USC outfielder Brayden Dowd has entered the Transfer Portal. That is confirmed via On3’s Pete Nakos.
The Clarkston, MI native started 57 games for USC this season, hitting for a team-leading .324 batting average with 15 doubles, 10 home runs, 36 RBI, a .524 SLG% and a .446 OBP%. His blow is massive for a Trojan program heading into their second season of Big Ten play.
Dowd played 4 varsity seasons at Brother Rice High School (Bloomfield Hills, MI) and was ranked as the 103rd best outfielder in the country. Over his two seasons at USC, Dowd compiled a .324 batting average with 21 doubles, 11 home runs, 36 RBI, a .524 SLG% and a .446 OBP%. He was named to the 2024 Pac-12 All-Tournament Team in its final season and boasts 36 career multi-hit games.
“He has a good frame and an athletic build with present strength and room to add more yet,” Perfect Game said about the former Trojan. “Ran the sixty in 6.75 seconds. Primary outfielder that showed athletic movements approaching the ball. He is experienced in the outfield, fielding the ball out front and throwing with a live arm and made consistently accurate throws.
“Left-handed hitter that starts with an even base in an upright position with high hands and a high back elbow. He has a small leg lift trigger and a rotational swing. He does a nice job of firing his hips and showed good bat speed through the zone. He has the ability to impact the baseball, especially to the pull side.”

The Trojans were selected to the 2025 NCAA Tournament as a No. 3 seed in the Corvallis Regional and won their first two games against No. 2 TCU (13-1) and No. 4 Saint Mary’s (6-4). They were however beaten in back-to-back games in the Corvallis Regional Final by Oregon State, ending their season.
In three NCAA Tournament games, Dowd went 5-13 at the plate with an RBI. This includes a 3-6 performance in USC‘s 13-1 drumming of TCU.
USC leads all college baseball programs with 12 National Championships, but have not climbed the mountain top since 1998. Prior to this season, the Trojans had not made the NCAA Tournament since 2015 and they were just one win away from their first Super Regional appearance since 2005.
Dowd is just the latest USC player to enter the portal, joining right-handed pitcher Jason Baker and right-handed pitcher Caden Aoki (Georgia).
