Oklahoma State transfer defensive back Jaylin Davies is committing to Vanderbilt via the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. The veteran hopes to help the Commodores in a big way in 2026.

Davies played high school football at Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 298 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted algorithm that compiles all major recruiting media services.

Moreover, Davies was rated as a three-star prospect in the On3 Transfer Portal Industry Rankings. He was the No. 653 overall recruit, and the No. 80 overall DB available after entering his name into the portal. You can check out the full rankings HERE to see where each athlete slots in.

Davies previously played for Oregon, UCLA and the Cowboys. Now, Vanderbilt will be his fourth team at the collegiate level in 2026.

The 2025-26 college football transfer portal lasted 15 days, spanning from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16. Players have had just over two weeks to enter the portal, but they’re not under a deadline to commit when they enter. Traditionally, the cut-off for committing has been how late a school can enroll a player through admissions, which varies throughout the sport.

Meanwhile, former Oklahoma State defensive tackle Michael Diatta has also committed to Vanderbilt, via the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

Diatta transferred to Oklahoma State ahead of the 2025 campaign. He made 11 appearances for the Cowboys this past season, recording nine tackles.

Before transferring to Oklahoma State, Diatta spent four seasons at Virginia. He amassed 36 appearances for the Cavaliers, but never started. He redshirted his true freshman season after playing in just three games.

Diatta played high school football at Cane Ridge (TN), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 845 overall player and No. 70 defensive lineman in the 2021 recruiting cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.

At the time of his commitment to Vanderbilt, Diatta was the No. 146 defensive lineman in On3’s 2026 Transfer Portal Player Rankings. Now, he’ll look to accomplish great things with the Commodores.
