Dijon Lee never envisioned himself as one of the top defensive backs in the country. In fact, there was a time he was destined to play at a different spot on defense. “I actually used to play linebacker, but I slimmed out and my grandpa moved me to corner when I was like 10-years old,” Lee said. “I wasn’t really that tall back then. I hit a growth spurt in eighth-grade summer. I'm open to playing safety or anywhere else, but I've come a long way since I played linebacker. I just want to play and help my team win.” Lee finished his junior year at Mission Viejo with 55 tackles, 22 of them solo. He also chipped in with two interceptions and 13 pass breakups. Lee also excels on the track, winning a league championship in the triple jump and competing in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles.

Dijon Lee's size and skill set reminds us of Benjamin St-Juste. Lee is more polished at the same stage with St-Juste playing high school football in Canada. St-Juste is longer.

Starter-caliber traits for a Power 4 program (SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC). Squarely on major-conference radars.

Power 4

Blue-chip traits — a high-priority Power 4 target with the tools to contribute early at the highest level.

Blue Chip

The top of the scale — national-caliber talent that every major program pursues, with a clear NFL trajectory.

Elite / Top 100

Very tall cornerback with advanced awareness and feet in coverage. Measured at 6-foot-3.25, 187 pounds with 32-inch arms and 9.5-inch hands at the On3 Elite Series prior to his senior season.Battle tested against top competition in one of the nation’s most competitive high school leagues. Rarely out of position in coverage. Technically sound when working off the line of scrimmage, using his hands to affect receivers. Good ball skills and ball production. Able to track and locate passes. Looks to understand route concepts and has been well coached. Skilled at reading quarterbacks, sometimes baiting them into ill-advised throws. Dangerous in zone coverage. A physical presence in defending the flats. Bodies ball carriers on contact. Shows good play speed, but true top-end remains a question. His personal best in the 100 meters is an 11.53 over three seasons of track and field, but has a 46-foot triple jump. Arm length is good at the position, but below average for a 6-foot-3 corner. Ultimate upside as a corner will be largely determined by his improvements in long speed, but has the size and technical skills to be an impact player at the position. Also not out of the cards he could end up as a safety long-term given his size and skills.
