Isaiah Phelps

Phelps is a productive two-way player who doubles as a talented running back but is being recruited primarily on the defensive side of the ball. Rushed for 979 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior but projects as an inside 'backer at the next level. Put up video game numbers on defense with over 200 tackles, including 23 for loss and four sacks. A bit undersized at a shade under 6-0 but a well built 205 pounds and hits like a truck. A tough, physical player who loves to hit. Can play in space, drop and cover and makes plays sideline to sideline. Highly instinctive and flashes natural ability to read, react and trigger. Gets downhill in a hurry and shows natural feel for avoiding blockers and running to the football. Natural leader with tremendous off the field work ethic and should be a future captain at the next level.
