Personal Life
At Wisconsin, offensive linemen are rock stars. And Jack Nelson has all the makings to be the Badgers' next All-American. The redshirt sophomore earned honorable mention all-league honors in 2021 while playing at right guard. And now that Nelson's anchored the left tackle spot for the Badgers, he has a chance to become a household name in college football. “It definitely didn’t hurt me," Nelson said about playing at guard. It helped to learn how to play in the interior – kind of understanding and giving respect to what those guys have got to do and how I can help them, and they can help me (at tackle). I’m rounding myself out as a football player.” Nelson was an On3 Consensus four-star recruit that ranked as the country’s No. 102 prospect overall coming out of Stoughton, Wisconsin, in the 2020 class. Nelson’s father, Todd, played offensive line for the Badgers and was drafted by the Phoenix Cardinals in the 1989 NFL draft.
