Saturday’s WNBA All-Star Game has been filled with points, trending toward nearly 300 total. To get there, a good number of assists are going to be required. Insert Skylar Diggins, who wound up making a little history late in the fourth quarter.

Diggins got her 15th assist with just under four minutes remaining in the game. A spectacular pass from behind halfcourt, Diggins found a member of Team Collier cutting right down the middle. It turned into a layup, giving the Seattle Storm star something nobody else has ever done.

You can check out the full play from Diggins here. Nothing new from her either, continuing to be one of the best point guards in the WNBA.

Diggins is among the league’s best when it comes to assists per game. She produces 5.8 every time out there, ranking 5th heading into the All-Star Break. If only these numbers got put into her overall stats, Diggins would possibly climb up the leaderboard.

To be fair to Diggins, these type of assist numbers have already been put up by her in a regular season game this year. On May 23 against the Phoenix Mercury, she recorded 14 assists in what eventually turned into a win for the Storm.

While no other game sees double-digit assists, Diggins made the most of her opportunity from Indianapolis. And now, she will forever be in WNBA All-Star Game history. Pretty cool in a week where the WNBA has once again only helped its popularity.

WNBA players fighting for better pay amid CBA discussions

On Oct. 31, the WNBA’s current collective bargaining agreement will officially be over. A new deal needs to be reached between the league and the players’ association. It’s turning into a critical time for the WNBA as the league’s popularity continues to explode throughout the sports world.

One of the big issues players will be fighting for is better paychecks from the league. Caitlin Clark, alongside Napheesa Collier, spoke on the topic when speaking to the media ahead of the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday. Yes, off-court deals have gotten lucrative for players but higher pay is still wanted.

“WNBA All-Star capts. Napheesa Collier & Caitlin Clark addressing the media right now,” Annie Costabile of FOS said via X. “Both have fielded questions on the CBA. Clark said players are fortunate to have lucrative deals off the court, but they’re fighting for better W paychecks as the league continues to grow.”
