Women's basketball watchlist: 11/11 edition

The women’s basketball season has entered week two. Here are the games to keep an eye on today.

BE SEATED AT ALL COSTS

These are the games you’re going to want to skip work for – the ones that will tell us a whole lot about the best of the best.

6pm: Clemson at South Carolina (ESPN2)

Who knows if this game will be close, but it should be fun. Clemson is a really entertaining team and has a real shot at making the NCAA Tournament this year. It’s also South Carolina’s first game against a P5 opponent. I’ll be tuning in.

8pm: Marquette at Minnesota (Big Ten+)

This game should be a really good litmus test for Minnesota in their first real challenge of the season. Both teams bring back nearly their entire core from a year ago, which is rare in this day and age.

THIS COULD BE COMPETITIVE/FUN

These matchups are more than just your run-of-the-mill easy blowouts. While some of them have the potential to be, these games are an opportunity to see good teams test themselves early.

5pm: St. John’s at Quinnipiac (ESPN+)

6:30pm: Dayton at Xavier (ESPN+)

7pm: Cincinnati at Saint Joseph’s (ESPN+)

A DECENT LOOK AND/OR AT OPTIMAL TIMES

These games will either be a solid look at a P5 team or they just fall at optimal times. If you’re in need of basketball to watch all day (like me), these are games to add to your list. 

11am: Loyola (MD) at Radford (ESPN+)

12pm: Prairie View A&M at Oklahoma State (ESPN+)

4:30pm: Utah State at Cal State Bakersfield (ESPN+)

6pm: Harvard at UMass (ESPN+)

7pm: Temple at West Virginia (ESPN+)

7pm: MTSU at Tennessee Tech (ESPN+)

7:30pm: Missouri State at SEMO (ESPN+)

7:30pm: Rice at Houston (ESPN+)

7:30pm: Arkansas State at Missouri (SECN+)

8pm: Murray State at South Dakota State

8pm: Memphis at South Alabama (ESPN+)

9pm: Grand Canyon at Oregon (Big Ten+)

10pm: Pacific at Cal (ACC Extra)

WATCH YOUR TEAM WIN A BLOWOUT

The rest of the games here will likely provide no true competitive value – but you never know. These games are just a look at some P5’s playing teams they should beat with ease. 

6pm: Cornell at Pittsburgh (ACC Extra)

7pm: Maine at NC State (ACC Extra)

7pm: Marshall at Indiana (Big Ten+)

7pm: Canisius at Syracuse (ACC Extra)
