Cocoa High School has been somewhat of a quarterback factory the last few seasons in the Sunshine State. The Tigers have enjoyed the likes of Blake Boda and Brady Hart, whom both been integral pieces in helping the program win state championships.

Now, another talented signal caller is taking his talents over to Cocoa.

2027 3-star quarterback Champ Smith told On3 on Saturday afternoon that he’s transferring from Spanish River High School to 7-time state champion Cocoa.

Last season for the Sharks, Smith saw action in a handful of games, but still put up some impressive numbers nonetheless. Smith in 2024 saw limited action in four games, completing 29-of-44 passes for 618 yards, eight touchdowns and just one interception.

Smith after the 2023 season had transferred to Columbus High School, but would later end up at Spanish River for the 2024 season.

The signal caller in 2023 for Jupiter Christian completed 141-of-233 passes for 1,974 yards and 20 touchdowns. Also saw time as a eighth grader when he was at Jupiter Christian, with Smith completing 82-of-139 passes for 1,273 yards and 18 scores in 2022.

Smith has several Power 4 offers on the table, with the quarterback holding overtures from schools like Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Syracuse and West Virginia. The latest offer Smith received was back in April 12th from Minnesota.
