Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.) QB, Duke commit Terry Walker III out for season with torn ACL

Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.) quarterback Terry Walker III announced on Wednesday evening that he will miss the remainder of his senior season due to a torn ACL suffered last week.
The Duke commit went down early in the second half of Hamilton Southeastern’s game against rival Fishers on Friday, which the Royals went on to lose 28-16. Unfortunately, the 6-foot-3, 165-pounder’s prep career has now come to a close. Walker transferred from Lawrence Central to Hamilton Southeastern this offseason.
“I want to thank everybody who has believed in me throughout my four years of high school football. From the Hamilton Southeastern community, staff, coaches, players and fans to those alike at Lawrence Central! I gave it everything I had for four years and I can proudly say that with my head held high.
Last Friday in our game against our rivals at Fishers I tore my ACL in the second play of the second half, due to that I am deeply saddened to announce that unfortunately that was my last high school football game and I will be missing the rest of the 2025-2026 football season due to injury,” Walker wrote in a post on X.
As a junior for Lawrence Central, Walker threw for 1,500 yards, 17 touchdowns and three interceptions. He rushed for nearly 400 more yards and four scores, too. Across his first three seasons, the Duke pledge tallied over 30 touchdowns.
Walker was tabbed as an Elite 11 Finalist this summer after impressing at the Nashville regional showcase in the spring. He looked the part and was named a stock riser by Rivals Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power.

“Walker first caught our eye with a strong showing at the Elite 11 Nashville regional, which earned him an invite to the Finals. The Indianapolis native backed up that initial sentiment by looking like one of the more talented throwers at the Elite 11 Finals. Walker flashed some of the best arm strength we saw from the group over the week. He can absolutely rip tight spirals to every level of the field,” Power wrote.
Walker committed to Duke over Virginia in April. He ranks as the No. 531 overall prospect, No. 34 QB and No. 5 player in Indiana in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies.
“I want to also thank the Duke football staff for their support, Bull City I am 1000 percent invested to getting back stronger and better for you guys! For those who have already reached out to show your support I truly appreciate it and it means a lot! Thank you! I will be back! Believe in me!,” Walker wrote.
Hamilton Southeastern is now 3-1 this season following the loss to Fishers. The Royals, now the No. 10 team in Indiana per the Massey Ratings, are set to host No. 3 Westfield this Friday.
