Long Beach Poly's Harry Johnson is stopped by Pacifica's Max Magana and Jesse Taylor Jr. during the first quarter of a CIF-SS Division 4 quarterfinal game at Pacifica High on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024. Pacifica won, 45-41.

It’s been a busy fall for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section as it continues to bring down the hammer on high school football programs. On Friday, Long Beach Poly became the latest to have players ruled ineligible by the association.

The562.org first reported on Friday afternoon that five Long Beach Poly football transfers have been ruled ineligible by the CIF-SS due to breaking Bylaw 202, which is listed by the association as ‘Penalty for Providing Incorrect, Inaccurate, Incomplete or False Information.’

That Bylaw has become quite notable as of late. It’s the same one that led to more than 20 Bishop Montgomery transfers get ruled ineligible over the offseason. Earlier this month, Long Beach Millikan had eight players ruled ineligible and was forced to forfeit a pair of victories.

All of these rulings have also come with a two-year ban, preventing each athlete from playing until the 2027-2028 season. Many of the Bishop Montgomery players have since transferred into schools in Arizona.

Long Beach Poly is currently 2-2 on the season and heads to Lakewood for its next game on Friday night. The Jackrabbits rank as the No. 55 team in California, according to the Massey Ratings. Poly is projected to win 41-14 on Friday night and is favored to win all but one of its remaining regular-season contests — an Oct. 3 bout against Golden State powerhouse Mission Viejo.

The Jackrabbits have produced multiple NFL stars over the years. Top alumni include DeSean Jackson, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jurrell Casey, Matt Corral and Jack Jones. Their current roster includes five ranked prospects: junior four-star cornerbacks JuJu Johnson and Donte Wright (Georgia commit), senior three-star wide receiver Kamarie Smith (Sacramento State), cornerback Deon Jackson (Cal) and tight end Jaden Hernandez (Colorado State).
