National High School Football Games of the Week: Nov. 20-22

The national high school football scene has another solid slate of games on tap as the playoffs rage on around the country, with state championships coming up on the horizon.
There’s a number of solid matchups from California to New Jersey and down to Florida. Here’s a look at the 10 biggest national high school football games you won’t want to miss from Nov. 20-22.
Corner Canyon (Utah) vs. Lone Peak (Utah)
When: Thursday, Nov. 20, 4:30 p.m. ET
Where: Rice-Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City, Utah
Can Corner Canyon avenge their lone loss of the entire high school football season on Thursday in Utah’s Class 6A state championship game? If the Chargers (11-1) look to get back on track, they’ll need senior four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga (Texas A&M commit) to lead the way against a talented Lone Peak defense. Casuga this season has thrown for 3,336 yards and 37 touchdowns this fall. When the Knights (8-4) beat the Chargers 42-21 back on Sep. 19 they did so behind a balanced offensive attack, led by junior signal caller Cruz Christensen, who has thrown for 1,524 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Massey Prediction: Corner Canyon 42, Lone Peak 20
Miami Edison (Fla.) at No. 13 Chaminade-Madonna (Fla.)
When: Friday, Nov. 20, 6:30 p.m. ET
Where: Arthur A. Bodie Stadium, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
No. 17 Chaminade-Madonna Prep (9-2) is on the march towards trying to win a 10th state championship in program history when they welcome Miami Edison (6-5) to ‘The Bod.’ The Red Raiders boast an impressive array of college-bound stars, including four-star wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens (Miami commit) and three-star quarterback Michael Clayton (Illinois commit). The Lions have a well balanced offense, behind the running of Texas commit Derrek Cooper, junior standout Arwin Jackson and freshman quarterback Malik Leonard. Though Massey says the final score will be a blowout, don’t be surprised if this one ends up a little closer than you think.
Massey Prediction: Chaminade-Madonna 45, Miami Edison 7
Colquitt County (Ga.) vs. No. 3 Grayson (Ga.)
When: Friday, Nov. 21, 7 p.m. ET
Where: Grayson Ram Stadium, Loganville, Ga.
One of the top Georgia second round playoff high school football games this week takes place between undefeated Grayson (11-0) and Colquitt County (9-2) in what’s a loaded Class 6A playoff bracket. Leading the Rams’ defense five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, who 77 total tackles, 25 for loss and 10 sacks, while junior quarterback Duece Smith, who has thrown for 1,989 yards and 24 touchdowns. Georgia commit Jae Lamar has been a vital piece to the offensive puzzle for the Packers (9-2), with the senior rushing for a team-high 922 yards on 126 attempts and scoring 17 touchdowns.
Massey Prediction: Grayson 42, Colquitt County 16
Bergen Catholic (N.J.) at No. 19 Don Bosco Prep (N.J.)
When: Friday, Nov. 21, 7 p.m. ET
Where: Granatell Stadium, Ramsey, N.J.
There’s no bigger game in the Garden State this postseason Bergen Catholic (8-2) and Don Bosco Prep (10-0) square off in this week’s NJSIAA Non-Public A state semifinals game, with the Ironmen coming away with the 14-9 victory. The Crusaders had won four straight in this series until the Ironmen’s win during the regular season. Defense will likely reign supreme once again as each features multiple Division I prospects. Expect another low-scoring affair between two of New Jersey’s top high school football teams as a berth in the state championship is on the line.
Massey Prediction: Don Bosco Prep 22, Bergen Catholic 21
West Orange (Fla.) at Venice (Fla.)
When: Friday, Nov. 21, 7:30 p.m. ET
Where: Powell Davis Stadium, Venice, Fla.
The four-time state champion Venice Indians (7-3) will look to continue their march towards repeating as Class 7A champs when they welcome a talented West Orange (10-1) group into Powell Davis Stadium. Last year’s meeting was a blowout in the region final, with the Indians winning 55-26. This time around, however, the contest looks to be closer than what is set on paper as the two teams are viable state championship contenders in their own right. Both teams feature talented passers with the Indians boasting Howard commit Darryon Jones (1,408 yards, 14 TDs) and the Warriors starring 2028 Andrew Chung, who has thrown 37 touchdowns this season.
Massey Prediction: Venice 43, West Orange 16
Thompson (Ala.) at Phenix City Central (Ala.)
When: Friday, Nov. 21, 8 p.m. ET
Where: Garrett-Harrison Stadium, Phenix City, Ala.
Thompson (9-3) has won three straight since losing to the Hoover Buccaneers back on Oct. 17 and have looked like the favorite for Alabama’s Class 7A state championship up against Central (11-1) in the state semifinals. The Warriors feature Alabama commitment Trent Seaborn, who has thrown for 3,200 yards and 30 touchdowns. The Red Devils have their own star at the quarterback position in Bobby Coleman, who has throw for 2,815 yards and 30 touchdowns. Winner of this game will move on to Alabama’s Class 7A state title game on Dec. 3.

Massey Prediction: Thompson 35, Phenix City Central 24
McCallie School (Tenn.) at No. 25 Baylor School (Tenn.)
When: Friday, Nov. 21, 8 p.m. ET
Where: Heywood Stadium, Chattanooga, Tennessee
The top two teams out of the Volunteer State are the Baylor School Red Raiders (10-0) and McCallie School Blue Tornado (10-2) and they square off in a TSSAA AAA, Division II state semifinal. Winner goes to the state championship in this heated rivalry between the two teams as the Red Raiders edged out Blue Tornado, 38-35, back on Oct. 3. Baylor School features Louisville four-star quarterback commit Briggs Cherry, who guides an offense that’s averaging 42.9 points per game. McCallie School will turn to Vanderbilt commit Keeyshawn Tabuteau (927 yards, 14 touchdowns) to make plays through the air.
Massey Prediction: Baylor School 34, McCallie School 30
No. 6 Mater Dei (Calif.) at No. 8 Corona Centennial (Calif.)
When: Friday, Nov. 21, 10 p.m. ET
Where: Husky Stadium, Corona, California
No. 6 Mater Dei (9-2) and No. 8 Corona Centennial (10-1) go head-to-head in Round 2 of this heavyweight battle battle between the national powerhouses in this CIF Southern Section Division I showdown. The Monarchs’ offensive attack is star-powered to the max with five-star tight end Mark Bowman (USC commit), five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. (Ohio State commit) and three-star quarterback Ryan Hopkins (Wisconsin) all at the key positions for the Monarchs. Centennial, which won the first time around 43-36, has one of the top defensive lines in the entire country, led by Cal commit Lucky Schirmer, 305-pound Eastern Washington commit Benjamin Tameifuna and 2027 Miles Schirmer.
Massey Prediction: Mater Dei 35, Corona Centennial 28
No. 13 Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.) at Orange Lutheran (Calif.)
When: Friday, Nov. 21, 10 p.m. ET
Where: Montell Field, Orange, Calif.
The No. 13 ranked Santa Margarita Catholic (8-3) takes on Orange Lutheran (3-9) in a Southern Section Division I semifinal showdown. Former NFL Pro Bowler Carson Palmer continues to do a tremendous job in his first season at the helm of his alma mater and now has the Eagles one game away from playing for a championship. Santa Margarita Catholic will look to do so behind a talented defense, led by USC commitment Simote Katoanga, who has tallied 30 tackles and 10.5 have gone for a loss. Orange Lutheran is coming off a massive upset win over St. John Bosco look to reach the CIF Southern Section championship for the first time since 2006.
Massey Prediction: Santa Margarita 26, Orange Lutheran 14
Monsignor Farrell (N.Y.) vs. Iona Preparatory School (N.Y)
When: Saturday, Nov. 22, 2:30 p.m. ET
Where: Wellington Mara Field, New Rochelle, New York
Two of New York’s top high school football teams collide on Saturday afternoon in New Rochelle for the New York Catholic High School Football League (NYCHSFL) championship. This contest pits New York’s No. 1 vs. No. 2 ranked teams, with Monsignor Farrell (9-1) edging out Iona Preparatory School (10-1), 28-21, back on Oct. 21. The Gaels feature senior three-star running back Crew Davis (1,055 yards, 14 touchdowns), a North Carolina commit. The Lions on offense are led by the play of sophomore quarterback Bryce Moye, who has totaled over 2,000 all-purpose yards and 25 scores.
