Too much revenue to be lost if bammer doesn’t go to NCG. IU doesn’t have the same following…

My immediate thought is how the NCAA has anything to do with it?
From a TV ratings perspective, the networks will want one of Alabama/UGA in. Not both. They would prefer UGA over Ole Miss.

I'm not so sure if Indiana making it in would even be that bad for ratings:
https://www.footballscoop.com/2025/12/10/50-most-watched-games-2025-college-football-regular-season
1. Ohio State-Michigan -- 18.4 million (Fox)
2. Indiana-Ohio State, Big Ten Championship -- 18.3 million (Fox)
3. Georgia-Alabama, SEC Championship -- 16.9 million (ABC)
The most watched championship game was Indiana-Ohio State. By quite a bit more over the SEC championship.

I think IU is head and shoulders a better team than Bama and that it'll take more than ref interference for Bama to win.

I said that in my post… bama makes it, obviously more interest from gen pop than if IU makes it which results in increased revenue (generally). I'm not hating on the SEC, But I would not mind seeing Indiana, Tech, or Miami win. I really like the Miami squad. They play hard.

jchunt said:Yes, Bama has a much larger fan base. Explain how that results is increased revenue for a game who’s advertising rates are already set and advertising has already been sold out for months? Will it increase ticket sales? No, it will be sold out no matter who plays? How does the “NCAA” benefit if Bama is in the game? How does increased interest also increase revenue for this particular game? Bama may increase revenue for Stub Hub or Seat Geek which doesn’t help the NCAA. It may increase revenue for post game novelty sales which also doesn’t help the NCAA. Actually none of it helps the NCAA since the CFP is an independent organization. I’m not sure you answered the question as thoroughly as you may think but I’m still interested in some specifics. again, thanks in advance.Do you not think bama has a stronger fanbase than IU? I said that in my post… bama makes it, obviously more interest from gen pop than if IU makes it which results in increased revenue (generally). You’re welcome 👍

Doubtful. IU will either come out and look like a deer in the headlights in the first quarter and never catch up or get out to a lead and loose it in the second half and loose in the end. Expect 2 questionable calls to go against them.

I think this conversation is a little tin foil hat. But it would never be the NCAA to worry about. It's ESPN that would want to influence outcomes. You really can't put anything past them anymore, too.
