Grunk supporters

Take a bow. And I'm not talking about posters who like Ethan personally or feel some type of loyalty to him. I'm talking about those of us who saw the arm talent, the poise and the decision making. People who've been around the game long enough to to be able to extrapolate and project from a small sample size. Ethan can make all the throws. Kid made himself some money today.

I was unsure to be honest about what i thought of the situation, but Grunk really stepped up in a big way today and I feel like Campbell has to see that and give him a lot to think about.

Loved Grunk since day one. Big arm, flawless mechanics and is a winner. We'd probably get 2 more seasons out of him.

I think he’s going to do well wherever he ends up. Wonder if Becht coming here (if that happens) is worth losing Grunkemeyer in the process (if that happens).

lol who exactly are not “grunk supporters”? This entire fanbase has been clamoring for grunk since the first game of the season. it’s always been clear that grunk has potential to be a great QB. The question is, does he give you the best chance to win games next year? I’m still not sure if a good performance in one bowl game with a thousand opt outs answers that question.

We don’t need a QB from Iowa State and definitely not one from Missouri.

LOL I thought the context should be obvious. the question you raise in your second paragraph is the context and this has been a heated debate for the past week or two (in case you haven't been around)

I mean, that's just a lie. At least 40% of regular posters on here were convinced Allar was a top-5 NFL draft pick and heisman contender until about week 4 this year.

Haha, this is so cringe. Believing in the QB of the team you root for, I am sure the NFL will be calling to hire you as a scout any day now.

I’ll take him back as the starter with the backup Manske from Iowa State next year.

And that debate is exactly the same now as it was yesterday. This game changes nothing. Grunk is still a young QB with a lot of talent and potential, with no guarantee that he will realize that potential. Also, no guarantee that he stays at Penn state, even if Becht doesn’t come. What guarantee do you have that grunk doesn’t want to follow the coach that recruited him? What guarantee do you have that grunk doesn’t have a good year at Penn state next year, but then accepts a bag from usc or Texas tech in 2027 that we can’t match? There are absolutely no guarantees for the future in modern CFB. Every single player is a potential free agent in every single offseason. There is absolutely 0 guarantee that you will have 3 years of grunk if you “choose” to keep him this year. So the debate remains, which QB gives you the best chance to win next year? A year when a new coach will be bringing a brand new system? I don’t really see how result of one bowl game changes the answer to that debate at all. Grunk is still a young QB with potential, but one game with 30 opt outs doesn’t prove that potential.

Stick with Grunk after his first game he looked shaky but he's grown into the starter we need next year.

Whether here or elsewhere he made himself some money today. I expect Becht would like Grunkenmyer though. Go with the younger guy.

This is a fine example of a remark that the poster would never make in a non-anonymous situation. Yet, he can't help himself.
