Hear me out on this, if we don’t get Lloyd, May, Otz or Donovan, and we skip Oates and Golden due to character issues, leaving us down to guys like Byington, I would like to see us hire Coach Bill Robinson. You’ve seen him as a weekly guest with Isaac Schade on Locked on Tar Heels. He has been head coach for decades, granted at a small school, Milligan U. That entire time he has been a coach at Carolina Basketball Camp every summer. He literally wrote the book on that camp, with great behind the scenes stories, and diagrams of plays. He is best known as a great IN-GAME coach. He would not be a sexy pick, but you know what is sexy? Winning games with great in-game adjustments. That was the calling card of Dean Smith. He is a high character guy loves Carolina, is already part of us, and could win big with P5 resources. Outside the box but inside the family. It would be a great story. What say you?

I like Mike Malone! Daughter is on the Carolina Volleyball team. He loves Carolina. Won the 2023 NBA Championship at Denver. Lives in Chapel Hill. If you can find it, watch his interview with Jones Angel last October. I was impressed.

Sometimes, the absolute self-mockery on these boards astounds me. "The Family" & "he loves Carolina" all still making the rounds.
Bunting "loved Carolina". Hubert "loves Carolina". Mack "loved Carolina". This or that guy is "in the family". When did those become job qualifications? Or even meaningful attributes?

I too love Carolina, but I should not coach the basketball team.

You had all that time while typing that huge paragraph to reconsider and still went through with posting.
I’d rather take Hubert back.

This family stuff shows how truly insane people have become and what they're willing to rationalize instead of having the killer instinct of winning.
