Jordan Seaton

Things are moving fast. As of now we don't anticipate Texas remaining in the sweepstakes for Jordan Seaton. I think Texas weighed the ROI and is going to pass. Time to get a guard or two.

Seems like the right move. Siani over Seaton helps with next year where we will have massive OL holes. Now we have two tackles already set again. More money to go big on the interior OL and hopefully a Mike. Still would like two starter level players added to the interior OL to make sure we have 6 proven starter level players.

We can use his money to bring in at least two IOL.

Siani makes more sense to me. Better run blocker and will likely be playing RT where that is traditionally a little more important. Also may get 2 years of Siani. Thats before the obvious $ difference.

Would've been cool, but I'd take a wild guess and say we could get two starter level guards for his price. And we now have three starting level tackles.

Signing both Sinai and Seaton seemed unrealistic to me, but getting either/or was good enough for me.

I am fine with that. Get the best guard we can. And then another guy who can play guard and center if needed. Quality backup type.

No Seaton in exchange for a stud guard and some depth at IOL seems like an A+ trade. Stack talent and figure out the lineup later.

This is the right decision. There is a cost/benefit analysis and other options where the value is much better and the talent is arguably very close, in some cases better upside/consistency. make no mistake, would love to have him, just not at the expense elsewhere.

I can live with this. Unfortunately for Seaton, he may have to face Simmons in the CFB Playoff next year.

Good news. Texas shouldn't spend $3MM for another left tackle. No need to overcomplicate this.

Smart. Save that money and go get some guards and BPA elsewhere.

As I mentioned previously, I’m totally fine with this. ETA: Got distracted and double posted in the same thread. My bad.

Was Silani’s commitment the other thing we had to navigate with Seaton?

Makes sense given the take of Siani. Sounds like Texas’ starting OL is looking like this so far: Goosby-portal guard-Robertson-Baker-Siani.
