A few questions and observations:
1. How is the ticket office bleeding out 2 million dollars
2. Our merchandise revenue across the board is only $1.1 million? Feels low with the cost of all the stuff I've seen. That's across the entire athletic department!
3. Biggest negative sports:
Women's BBall - $8 million
Track -$6.7 million
Swimming & Diving - -$3.6 million
Gymnastics -$3 million
I'm sorry but Women's basketball operating at a negative 8 million dollar deficit is abhorrent. We all love the lady tigers success, but that's a horrible business model for the amount of success they have seen.
Baseball is where it always is, a little in the red or black. Track just isn't a spectator sport, it has a large team so travel is expensive. The stadium is also a dump.
Women's Basketball is the albatross on the department. It generated no where near the revenue that it consumes. Men's basketball as garbage as it is, operated +$2.25 million. Thank you TV contracts. We are missing out on revenue here though.
Tough decisions have to be made in the future with rev share, but WBB got to change. Jay needs a bump and it's gonna come out of Kim's wallet.

LSU needs to figure out what schools like Auburn and Alabama are doing and copy them. I looked at those 2 and their profit from MBB the last 3-4 years ending with 2025 fiscal year. They both spent around $20 million per year and made $4-$5 million profit each. We spent $10 million and made $2 million.
Anyone notice WBB salaries are around $500,000 more than WBB salaries with about equal staff.

The only difference is the men have 12 mil in revenue while the women have 2 mil. All the men's revenue is in the difference of TV contracts. Thats the lesson in the equal pay argument with people not understanding it doesnt matter how we treat you if people arent paying to see you. It will be interesting what the new contracts looks like for women's college.that's a good point. If it's that valuable, how is it not more cost effective?
