Why did you guys seem like we were outlandish for thinking DR was gone after that CBS report until the news broke? I get it was a fluid situation, but I feel like the fanbase and most media members knew it was trending in that direction. HOL was adamant that he was a "husker". It seems like you guys are guarded on these kinds of stories until the national guys release it.

I think mainly because the Raiolas and the program both seemed stunned about the report during the Iowa week. I mean, we did break the news of John Butler being fired a full hour before anyone had anything. On3 broke the Donovan Raiola news. As a site, we've still stayed on top of a lot this cycle, but generally, you only hear about what you've done wrong.
The Raiola story was very complicated because so much money was involved and spent. Raiola will likely earn $5.5 million from Nebraska over the next two years. Bo Pelini made just under $3.1 million during his final year at Nebraska in 2014. Mike Riley made $2.7 million in 2015. Chew on that for a second.

@Sean Callahan, can you clarify your underlined statement above from the live chat? Does this mean even though Dylan is gone he is still owed NIL from Nebraska for the next 2 years? I would have assumed that if the athlete leaves their deal with the university ends. I'm a little confused. Maybe you meant last 2 years? Thanks

What about Stone Saunders Rfr. from Kentucky? NU and UK were his final two choices.

Guessing he meant "will have earned" with him earning $3.5 this past year and close to $2 mil the year before.

This is over 2024 and 2025. Not after this year. Just his first two years here.

Changed title to OP post. No need for that to be out there. I did two hours of questions on the chat, so I will go back and correct that.

What a waste of money. Need to do better identifying talent across the board if they want to get back to a real player in the B1G

The still isn’t as bad as the strength coaching getting a raise.

itshammertime said:These posts make no sense to me. Nebraska paid him for the QB he was supposed to become in 2025. His value as a QB was probably never higher than it was after 2024. Everyone thought he would take a big step forward like most 5 stars that have as good of a freshman year as Dylan had. The reality is Dylan didn't get much better and that is more on him than anyone.Frostian level. Wow. We need to finally make a complete break from the 1990s. It's not done us any good.
