The final game of Day 1 of the 2025 SEC Baseball Tournament is being postponed to Wednesday due to weather, the SEC announced. Mississippi State vs. Texas A&M will now be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. CT no longer take place Tuesday night.

The SEC shifted the schedule for Wednesday’s and Thursday’s games as a result of the change. Mississippi State vs. Texas A&M will now get the action underway Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. CT. From there, the next three games will move back, respectively.

Tennessee vs. Alabama will now be at 12:30 p.m. CT and Georgia vs. Oklahoma will follow at 4:30 p.m. CT. The nightcap will now feature Ole Miss against Florida, which took down South Carolina in what turned out to be Tuesday’s final game as a result of the change. Thursday will now include an 11 a.m. CT game as Auburn goes up against either Mississippi State or Texas A&M.

The 2025 SEC baseball tournament got underway with three games on Tuesday before inclement weather approached Hoover Met. Alabama started things off with a 4-1 victory over Missouri in the opening game and will now advance to take on Tennessee.

Oklahoma then followed with its first-ever SEC tournament victory, taking down Kentucky 5-1 thanks to a huge performance on the mound and at the plate. The Sooners got a two-run home run from Jason Walk to get the scoring started and never looked back on offense, while the pitching staff didn’t allow an earned run in the win.

Florida and South Carolina played in the third game of the day, which wound up being the last before the weather made its way toward Hoover Met. The Gators took full control in the second inning thanks to a three-run home run from Bobby Boser, and five players had at least two RBI en route to the resounding 11-3 victory over the Gamecocks. UF flirted with a run rule at one point in the dominant showing.

This year’s SEC baseball tournament featured a new format as Oklahoma and Texas joined the fray, taking the conference to 16 teams. It will now be single elimination during the six-day tournament, meaning it’s win-or-go home every day. The previous format featured single-elimination in the first round, then shifting to double-elimination before single-elimination in the semifinals and championship.
