Elijah Williams, a four-star small forward in the 2026 class, has committed to Baylor, he told On3.

The 6-foot-6 small forward out of TMI Episcopal (TX) chose to play for coach Scott Drew and the Bears over offers from Arizona, Alabama, Kansas, Notre Dame, Oregon, and others.

An electric scorer, Williams is currently averaging 20.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for JL3 on the EYBL Circuit.

Elijah is the son of former NBA head coach Monty Williams. The NBA Coach of the Year in 2022, Monty was the head coach for the Phoenix Suns from 2019-2023 and the Detroit Pistons from 2023-2024. He now serves as the head coach for TMI Episcopal in San Antonio, where he coaches Elijah.

Williams is the No. 38 overall recruit in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 14 small forward prospect and the No. 4 player in Texas. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Williams on his commitment to Baylor

Elijah Williams went in-depth on his commitment to Baylor with On3.

“I chose Baylor because of the love they showed me everyday and because of the elite program Coach Drew built that I want to be apart of.”

What led to his trust in the coaching staff?

“When I went on my visit, the connection on a personal level and a care about me more than just a basketball player. They showed they care about me as a person.”

In his own words, what type of player is Baylor getting in Elijah Williams?

“I would describe myself as a 3-level scorer who loves to get downhill and shoot the 3. And can guard any position on the court.”

He has a message for Baylor fans.

“I’m ready.”

Scouting Williams

On3’s Jamie Shaw scouted Elijah WIlliams last weekend at EYBL and wrote this about the newest Bears commit:

Elijah Williams was able to show flashes this weekend despite his team going 1-3 overall. The 6-foot-6 wing had two 20-plus-point performances this weekend. He has nice length and good size and he plays at an intriguing pace, one that can draw a defense off balance and get him to the line. He has a nice feel for the game.

Elijah Williams was noted as one of the standouts at the USA Basketball U17 Training Camp last summer, according to Jamie Shaw:

Elijah Williams has been able to pick his spots this week and show some flashes. He has nice size with solid length. He was not asked to do much self-creation, but he knocked down some shots which was able to spread the floor, and he moved the ball well.
