Denton (Texas) Ryan four-star interior offensive lineman Marcus Garcia has acquired 30 offers to this point. As he enters April, the 6-foot-5, 270-pounder is ready to narrow his focus on six programs.

Garcia has trimmed his list down to Arkansas, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State and Texas A&M, he tells On3.

Plenty of schools have expressed serious interest in Garcia, but each of his top six schools have emerged as contenders via building relationships and showing the blue-chipper that he’s indeed a major priority.

“My relationships with the coaches and where the best spot is for me is one of the main things that me and my family were talking about,” Garcia told On3. “It was mostly which school is going to develop me the most, which school has a history of developing O-line, which coaching staff believes in me and wants to develop me as a player and a person.”

“They show a lot of love and that’s important for me.”

Those relationships will be one of, if not the biggest factor for Garcia and his family when the time comes for him to make a decision. Coming up next is a string of official visits this summer, beginning with an April 26 OV to Nebraska.

After that, he’ll take officials to Arkansas (May 31), A&M (June 6), Michigan (June 14) and Penn State (June 19).

Garcia could commit at any time

Now is the time for Garcia to name his top schools — and the time for his commitment may not be too far behind, either. By the time the bulk of his official visits roll around, his name could very well already be off the board.

“I want to make a decision as soon as possible. I’m thinking it will be late April, early May,” he said. “I’m starting to get that feeling and I know tons of recruits are going to commit during April to July, during that time frame, so I just want to lock that in.”

Of his contenders, A&M has had Garcia on campus three times, including a trip to College Station over the weekend. He took his first visit to Ann Arbor to see Michigan last month.

Garcia, the No. 171 overall recruit and No. 10 IOL in the 2025 On300, isn’t sure exactly when he’ll pull the trigger on his pledge. But when the time is right, he knows he won’t wait to lock in his decision.

“If I feel that a school is really like that, if I get that feeling, I might just do it on that day. You never know, when I get that feeling I’m just going to go ahead and do it and trust my gut.”
