Oklahoma put together the most memorable performance of the Brent Venables era on Saturday afternoon. Both the Sooners and Alabama had plenty on the line going into Bryant-Denny Stadium. Well, the road team came out on top, securing a historic result for the program.

Some OU players decided to either stay on the field or come back from the locker room to take some photos. A few were taken on the Alabama logo at midfield, which did not make a Crimson Tide staffer all too happy.

Instructions came to get off the logo, which was shortly followed by the players and a coach, either by lifting the rope or jumping over. You can then hear her say, “Get out… it’s roped off,” when another group of Oklahoma players comes over. They then went just above the logo, getting a few more pictures. The full moment was captured by Matt Stahl of AL.com.

Thankfully, nothing more came of the situation. No other Alabama staffers, coaches, or players were around to see the moment unfold. For the most part, everyone involved with Oklahoma obliged with the request and moved locations.

At the end of the day, it’s going to be a monster celebration for the Sooners. Beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa has been a rarity over the last two decades, and Oklahoma can now claim one.

Breaking down College Football Playoff situations of Alabama, Oklahoma

Oklahoma should be set for quite a rise when Tuesday’s rankings come out. Previously at No. 11 and the first team out of the projected 12-team field, you can imagine they will now be placed ahead of Alabama. The Crimson Tide was at No. 4, holding the top spot for a one-loss team.

Two games remain on the schedule, both in Norman. Missouri comes to town this time next week, before hosting LSU a couple of days after Thanksgiving. Winning out will for sure get them into the College Football Playoff. It’s possible there is even breathing room, depending on how other teams fare.

Alabama will be disappointed in the loss but certainly still controls its own destiny. Eastern Illinois comes to town for a buy game. Then, everything comes down to the Iron Bowl in Jordan-Hare Stadium, something nobody wearing crimson wanted to hear.

Two wins and Kalen DeBoer is in the CFP in his second season in charge. Another loss and Alabama is likely watching from home once again.
