More on recent history between Arkansas, Ole Miss

This is a game everyone got used to seeing on a yearly basis within the SEC. Even as the conference went away from divisions, Arkansas and Ole Miss continue to play one another. Fayetteville hosted a year ago, a contest that got out of hand quickly in favor of the Rebels.

“I do think the game was an example of just every play went our way,” Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said on the SEC Coaches Teleconference. “Every call, every ball was perfectly thrown. So, it was one of those games that, every once in a while, happens where, kind of, every break went our way.”

Obviously, Kiffin is hoping for more of the same. Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman, not so much, and he spent parts of the offseason making sure. Walking into last year’s postgame press conference, Pittman wondered if Arkansas was tipping plays to Ole Miss. He is confident the matter has been fixed.

“All offseason with that,” Pittman said. “We certainly had a conversation again last night about that. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong — if someone is telling me what they’re doing, offensively, every play and I know it, I’m probably going to use it. I don’t look at that as anything and I’m not saying they did or anything like that. I’m just saying that we’re the only ones that should know what we’re running, unless they have some tendency on us… whether if we’re playing Ole Miss or whoever.”
