The USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll has been refreshed following the seventh week of the season. Massive showdowns resulted in fascinating movement throughout the Top 25.

In this week’s iteration, the Coaches Poll’s steady top tier remained, as several contenders utilized dominant non-conference wins to reinforce their national standing. Most teams are enjoying a pause before conference play, as the focus now shifts to sustaining momentum with expectations continuing to rise across.

As you can tell, the action is picking up across the country, and the Coaches Poll Top 25 is certain to see plenty of movement as the season unfolds. For now, here’s how things stack up after Week 7. This week’s updated rankings are below.

1. Michigan

Michigan remained unbeaten with a 52-point demolition of La Salle on Sunday. At 11-0, the Wolverines have cruised through nonconference play with depth and balance.

Senior forward Yaxel Lendeborg has been the steady leader, impacting the game as both a scorer and facilitator. With the week off, Michigan will look to maintain momentum heading into tougher tests ahead.

2. Arizona

Arizona impressed with a pair of convincing wins, handling Abilene Christian and San Diego State by a combined 57 points. The Wildcats remain perfect at 11-0 and have looked increasingly dominant on both ends of the floor.

Freshman forward Koa Peat has emerged as a reliable contributor despite his youth. Arizona will look to stay sharp with a Monday matchup against Bethune before the calendar flips.

3. Iowa State (+1)

Iowa State remained undefeated with a 31-point blowout of Long Beach State. The Cyclones are 12-0 and continue to separate themselves with defensive intensity and shot-making.

Junior forward Milan Momcilovic has emerged as a go-to scorer, giving Iowa State a reliable offensive option. With the week off, the Cyclones will aim to stay locked in mentally as expectations rise.

4. UConn (+1)

UConn stayed red-hot with double-digit wins over Butler and DePaul. The Huskies improved to 12-1, showing depth and consistency as conference play approaches.

Junior guard Solo Ball has been a steady offensive presence, providing scoring punch from the perimeter. UConn will enjoy a brief break before returning to action on New Year’s Eve against Xavier.

5. Purdue (+1)

Purdue flexed its muscle last week with a dominant 28-point win over Auburn, reinforcing its place among the nation’s elite. The Boilermakers enter the week at 11-1 with a valuable opportunity to reset during a full week off.

Senior forward Trey Kaufman-Renn continues to anchor the frontcourt with consistent production on both ends. His double-double averages give Purdue a reliable interior presence heading into conference play.

6. Duke (-3)

Duke split its week, rolling past Lipscomb before suffering a one-point loss to Texas Tech. The Blue Devils sit at 11-1, with the loss serving as a reminder of the thin margin at the top of the rankings.

Freshman standout Cameron Boozer continues to play at an elite level, producing across the stat sheet nightly. A full week off gives Duke time to regroup and clean up late-game execution.

7. Gonzaga

Gonzaga stayed sharp with wins over Campbell and Oregon, improving to 12-1. The Bulldogs continue to blend experience with offensive efficiency, especially in the frontcourt.

Junior forward Braden Huff has been a consistent scoring presence, stretching defenses with his versatility. Gonzaga will look to maintain momentum Sunday against Pepperdine.

8. Houston

Senior guard Emanuel Sharp has been their most reliable scoring option, especially in big moments. With a week off, Houston can focus on staying healthy and refining its half-court execution.

9. Michigan State

Michigan State took care of business with wins over Toledo and Oakland to move to 11-1. The Spartans continue to grind out results with rebounding and defensive discipline.
