The College Football Playoff bracket has been revealed, and that means it’s time to make picks on games to determine who is best suited to win this year’s national championship.

ESPN analyst Joey Galloway has an interesting set of picks, one that puts Notre Dame all the way into the championship game despite not getting a first-round bye. That would be quite the run through the playoffs.

To get to the national title game, Notre Dame’s road first begins with a home date with Indiana.

The Hoosiers have had a fantastic season, led by Curt Cignetti, losing only one game all year — like the Fighting Irish. Moreover, Indiana might be motivated by what it perceives as a playoff snub; Cignetti was vocal that he thought Indiana should be hosting.

Regardless, an opening-round win there would put Notre Dame into the College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

The matchup that awaits would be a showdown with No. 2 Georgia in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1, the final quarterfinal matchup of the day. Notre Dame and Georgia would be an epic clash, one that would pit two teams that have proven they know how to win against each other.

Galloway sees Notre Dame winning that matchup.

Finally, Galloway sees Notre Dame reaching the championship game in the College Football Playoff by knocking off Penn State in the semifinals. To get there, Penn State would have beaten both SMU and Boise State.

Other interesting picks from Joey Galloway’s bracket?

He has Texas beating Clemson, Ohio State beating Tennessee, Texas beating Arizona State, Oregon winning in a rematch against Ohio State, then Oregon knocking off Texas to reach the title game.

Galloway has Oregon as his 2024 College Football Playoff champion.
