The Week 11 College Football Playoff rankings are set to be released on Tuesday night, in between Champions Classic games. However, the old method of how college football used to decide who played for the national championship — the BCS — is still up and running.

Prior to the committee’s CFP rankings, the BCS top 25 standings were revealed. It might be a system of the past but still releasing the rankings provides a look at how things could shake out if never abolished. More times than not, at least at the top, the BCS agrees with the committee.

Nothing has changed in the top five compared to a week ago, with all of the top teams winning their conference matchups. Although TCU was the only one going up against a ranked opponent, they stayed at No. 4. However, they are just 0.0001 behind Michigan now.

Alabama is the biggest riser in the top 10, moving from No. 9 all the way to No. 6 after a win against Ole Miss. Nick Saban‘s team has moved ahead of LSU, despite a head-to-head loss against the Tigers just a week and a half ago.

LSU itself got a road victory over the weekend, barely squeaking by Arkansas in Fayetteville. If their SEC West rival were to somehow pass them in the CFP standings on Tuesday night, there would be some outcries from the college football world.

Out west, USC is seemingly the last hope the Pac-12 has when it comes to the playoff. Oregon and UCLA dropped games on Saturday — giving them both two losses on the season. Lincoln Riley only has one loss on Utah and is still alive to win a conference championship.

A massive rivalry game against UCLA is on deck. If the Pac-12 wants to stay alive in the CFP, the Trojans must win out.
