2026 On3 Player Rankings Breakdown | New 5-Stars, Top Players in 2026 Class with Josh Newberg and Cody Bellaire | Inside Scoop

Last month, the book closed on the 2024 recruiting class. The 2025 cycle is in full swing as recruits are ramping up visits to top programs around the country.

Now it’s time to take a look at the incoming junior class for high school football. On3 has released its initial 2026 On300 ranking, consisting of three five-star prospects and 147 four-star recruits.

Twelve 2026 On300 players have already announced their commitments, representing 10 schools across three major conferences. Below are those 12 committed recruits and which schools they have chosen.

5-star WR Chris Henry Jr. — Ohio State

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. ranks No. 2 overall in the 2026 On300.

Formerly of Cincinnati Withrow, Henry chose Ohio State in late July of last year. Henry is the son of the late former NFL wide receiver Chris Henry of the Cincinnati Bengals.

“Life has been amazing since I’ve committed,” Henry told Lettermen Row after a game day visit in September. “It was great being a commit on the visit. I was treated like family and I felt the love from the fans and the coaching staff.”

Brian Hartline and the Buckeyes offered Henry very early on in his recruitment — back in June 2022.

“I think he liked my ability to track the ball down and my speed. And I’m a very coachable player. I was [surprised],” Henry Jr. said about his Buckeyes offer. “But I think I earned it because I worked for it. But it just makes me want to get better.”

4-star DL Tony Cumberland — Oregon

Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain four-star defensive lineman Tony Cumberland ranks No. 19 overall in the 2026 On300.

Cumberland chose Oregon in September over schools like Ohio State, Texas A&M, Washington and others. The 6-foot-4.5, 285-pound Cumberland told On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons in January that he is locked in with the Ducks.

“My commitment to Oregon is 100%,” Cumberland told On3. “I talk to the coaches about two to three times a week, we talk for about an hour and everything is going well. Oregon was a school I liked growing up, I loved my visit up there and it just felt right. My feeling is the same today as it was the day I committed.”

It came down to the people up there.

“Oregon felt like home. I go to all of these colleges, and it was confusing at first, but the family vibe at Oregon made it different there. Everyone is united there. It is one big family. It is not just the coaches, but everyone there supports each other and it just felt right.

“That family vibe is what makes Oregon stand out. Oregon has what I am looking for.”

4-star RB Jonathan Hatton — Oklahoma

San Antonio Steele four-star running back Jonathan Hatton ranks No. 31 overall in the 2026 On300.

Hatton committed to Oklahoma in early October over Texas Tech, Nebraska, and Vanderbilt.

“It was a no-brainer. OU is a great fit for me on and off the field,” Hatton told Sooner Scoop. “It’s the environment and relationship with the coaches. They also teach some of the same things my parents have instilled in me since I was a kid.

“It was my third visit down but my first game and it was unbelievable!”

Hatton also told On3 that he is closest with Sooners running backs coach DeMarco Murray.

4-star LB Jordan Campbell — Miami

Miami Gardens (Fla.) American four-star linebacker Jordan Campbell ranks No. 57 overall in the 2026 On300.

Campbell joined the Hurricanes’ 2026 class in late November, choosing Miami over Maryland and South Carolina.

“That’s the hometown team and that’s who I want to play with,” Campbell told CaneSport. “We have a bunch of hometown players playing and bringing victories to the hometown team and I want to be apart of that.”

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Campbell has visited Coral Gables multiple times and built a strong relationship with the staff at Miami.

“They were extremely excited,” Campbell said. “Our relationship has been building overtime since last year. I’ve been to a few games this year and we’ve had great conversations over that time. Also throughout the times of me going to the school for the barbecue and everything.”

4-star RB Messiah Mickens — Penn State

Harrisburg (Pa.) Trinity four-star running back Messiah Mickens ranks No. 90 overall in the 2026 On300.

Mickens committed to Penn State in August over Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan. He described his reasoning behind choosing the Lions to BWI.

“When I went and traveled across the country, I felt like everything was the same. They’re all great coaches. They’re all great facilities. Nothing really stood out to me. Penn State was always the school I really liked, and then when I started really narrowing it down, it was easy to see that was home,” Mickens told BWI. “Having my family come see me play is important to me. It’s not far at all. So, I just thought that was the best option for me and my family.

“But also, the education part. With me wanting to go to school for business, and now me seeing more and more people who went to Penn State and the success they’re having in life, that helped as well.”

4-star ATH Efrem White — Florida State

Vero Beach (Fla.) four-star athlete Efrem White ranks No. 96 overall in the 2026 On300.

White committed to Florida State in mid-December.

“I love the environment and energy they bring,” White told Warchant about his commitment. “The facility is great, and so are the fans. But most of all, I really respect and love how the coaching staff runs everything. They really make it feel like I’m home when I’m there, and I love the way they treat academics to better the players off the field.”

Florida State wide receivers coach Ron Dugans has played a big part in White’s recruitment and was one of the coaches the four-star prospect thanked in his commitment post.

“Well, he’s a very good person in general. He really treats his players like they’re his own children,” White said. “And he makes me feel like FSU is something I’ll wanna be a part of.”

4-star RB Raycine Guillory — Texas

Aledo (Texas) four-star running back Raycine Guillory ranks No. 100 overall in the 2026 On300.

Guillory chose Texas in late January over schools like SMU, Arkansas and USC. The commitment came while Guillory visited Austin for the Longhorns’ Junior Day.

“My goal is to just find a home,” Guillory said months prior to his commitment. “Find a relationship, get a relationship with coaches. Find somewhere I know I fit the program and probably help them get to a championship.”

4-star CB Brandon Lockhart — USC

Los Angeles Loyola four-star cornerback Brandon Lockhart ranks No. 141 overall in the 2026 On300.

Lockhart pledged to USC in late October over Penn State and Oregon.

“I have for sure talked to other 26s and even a few 25s,” Lockhart told WeAreSc. “I think the class is stacked and has a huge opportunity to make USC a national powerhouse for years to come. ‘JuJu’ committing first is going to get things started for sure. Having a great quarterback lets everyone know what the offense will look like.

“I can be the guy that people will look to for what the defense will look like.”

4-star QB Landon Duckworth — South Carolina

Jackson (Ala.) four-star quarterback Landon Duckworth ranks No. 144 overall in the 2026 On300.

Duckworth committed to South Carolina back on August 5 shortly after the Gamecocks’ annual summer cookout.

“I had an idea going into that visit that I was going to commit,” Duckworth told On3. “One big thing was that we stay in contact and talk all the time. No other school stayed in contact like that. I could tell we were really locked in with each other.

“. . . I just had a different feeling up there and I feel comfortable with my decision.”

One of the biggest reasons for his commitment to South Carolina was his already strong bond with Gamecocks’ quarterback coach Dowell Loggains.

“I like the way Coach Loggains talks to me and treats me,” Duckworth said. “I can talk to Coach Loggains like we’re best friends. We understand each other and we can talk good football together.”

3-star SAF Darryl Bell — Florida State

Miami Barbara Goleman three-star safety Darryl Bell ranks No. 202 overall in the 2026 On300.

Bell committed to Florida State on October 10.

“I felt like it was home,” Bell said of his decision. “And I felt like the coaches, I had a special bond with them from the first time I met them.”

While Florida State assistant coach Randy Shannon is Bell’s primary recruiter, the safety prospect said he also has hit it off with head coach Mike Norvell.

“When I met him at the FSU and FAU camp, he really taught me a few things that I didn’t really know,” Bell said of Norvell. “When I first met him, I didn’t know who he was because he had the shades on. But after he said his name, he was really vibing with me and showing me some stuff.”

3-star OT Andrew Trout — Minnesota

Cold Spring (Minn.) Rocori three-star offensive tackle Andrew Trout ranks No. 204 overall in the 2026 On300.

Trout has been committed to Minnesota since late January.

“First and foremost, I want to give all the glory to God. Without Him, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” Trout wrote on social media. “I want to thank my parents and sisters for guiding and supporting me through all the highs and lows of this journey. And lastly, I want to thank all of the coaching staff at Rocori Football for believing in me and pushing me to be the best I can be. Especially my head coach James Herberg who has guided me through this stressful, but fun process.

“With all that being said I am excited to announce my commitment to continue my football and academic career at the University Of Minnesota!! GO GOPHERS!!”

3-star WR Malachi Toney — Miami

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage three-star wide receiver Malachi Toney ranks No. 278 overall in the 2026 On300.

Toney committed to Miami on August 22.

“They are on the verge of getting back to the old ways at Miami,” Toney told CaneSport. “It feels good that I could be a part of that. Coach Cristobal and the staff are on the verge of turning things around; they are bringing in top players, and it is something I want to be a part of.

“All of the coaching staff knows me; they all recruit me, and I am excited about the future. They keep me updated on things, and I feel good about where things are going.”
