Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star cornerback Dakoda Fields has announced his top seven schools. Greg Biggins of 247Sports reported that California, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, USC and Washington were the schools that made the cut.

Fields is the No. 89 overall prospect and No. 12 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 10 player in California.

Oregon is the overwhelming favorite to land a commitment from the 6-foot-1.5, 177-pounder according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). The Ducks sit with a 95.3% chance to land his pledge.

Fields has two official visits for the summer as he’ll visit USC on June 2 and Oregon on June 23. He visited both of those schools over the spring including a pair of visits to USC.

“I see a lot of confidence in coach Lanning,” Fields told On3’s Chad Simmons over the winter. “I think he really gets the team fired up. Win or loss, he lives to fight another day. I just love the coaching staff. I just love the energy they bring.”

Simmons reported on April 18 that while Ohio State is battling for Fields, he felt like Fields would end up staying on the west coast.

“He is coming off unofficial visits to Oregon and USC — those two are viewed as his top two,” Simmons said. “The visit to Eugene set the bar high I am told and the Ducks are trending heading into summer official visits”

Fields currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $109K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
