The Florida Gators‘ job is officially open. Now, there is an expectation that the Gators go out and land a massive name in coaching. The only question is who is that going to be?

For David Pollack, the first call Florida should make is simple. That would be Jeff Brohm, the head coach for the Louisville Cardinals. Pollack would explain why on his show, See Ball Get Ball.

“I think there’s a bunch of people you can go after,” David Pollack said. “There’s one guy who I don’t know if he’s going to be talked about a whole lot, but it’s the first call I would make. I’m not saying it’s the right decision, but it’s the first call I would make, and that would be Jeff Brohm.”

Jeff Brohm has been at Louisville since 2023. During that time, he’s put together a 24-9 record. That includes one double-digit win season and this season’s 5-1 start. He had previous stops at Western Kentucky and Purdue, winning two conference championships at Western Kentucky. Regardless of where he’s been, excellent offensive play has followed him.

“I’d literally go right to the University of Louisville,” Pollack said. “Not a second, man. Why would I do it? Because Jeff Brohm, he is an elite offensive mind. He’s a top five play caller in all of college football. He’s proven he can recruit. He can run so many different systems and mesh so many different systems really, really well. He knows how to beat Miami. That’s a good rival, like Florida, that he just beat. But I just think with the entertaining brand of football and the great coach that he is.”

If Florida were to kick the tires on Brohm, there’s a problem. He’s a Louisville native who played for the Cardinals in his own playing career. He’s home, and getting him out of there would take a massive effort.

“Now, I’m not saying he’s gonna leave his alma mater, and I don’t think he will. That’s his hometown. Everything about that. Probably not gonna leave,” Pollack said. “But he’s the first guy I would call because I know immediately beyond a shadow of a doubt I get Jeff and Brian. So, I get both Brohms. Both offensive coaches. Both really, really elite at what they do. I would sign up for that in a heartbeat.”

For the time being, Jeff Brohm is focused on the season at hand at Louisville. There, the Cardinals are still very much in the ACC title race. Next week, the focus is going to be on Boston College and avoiding an upset loss.
