Georgia vs. Georgia Tech: Early point spread released on Bulldogs, Yellow Jackets

Rivalry week is here and with it a chance for some serious upsets. Georgia Tech will be eying one of those, with the chance to take down two-time national champion Georgia. But if the early point spread is any indication, it won’t be easy.
Georgia opens up as a 23.5-point favorite in the game, according to lines released by FanDuel.
How to watch Georgia vs. Georgia Tech
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Channel: ABC, FuboTV
Location: Atlanta, Ga.
The Bulldogs have been outstanding throughout the season, a seeming machine mowing down opponents en route to another SEC Championship Game berth and potentially a College Football Playoff berth.
It hasn’t been easy, but Georgia has managed to replace some key pieces from last year’s national title team, most notably quarterback Stetson Bennett.
In stepped Carson Beck at quarterback, and he’s been outstanding for the vast majority of the season. Beck has already topped 3,000 yards passing and has had a completion percentage well north of 70% for most of the year.
He’s been good at distributing the football, which has been tricky with some key targets in and out of the lineup.
But both star wideout Ladd McConkey and tight end Brock Bowers have returned in recent weeks to give Beck much closer to his full complement of players at the skill spots.

Running backs Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton have formed a nice one-two punch in the backfield.
The early point spread seems reflective of Georgia being much closer to full health right now.
Georgia Tech has had a solid first season under new coach Brent Key, who took over last season. The Ramblin’ Wreck are led by transfer quarterback Haynes King, who has thrown for 2,400-plus yards and more than 20 touchdowns.
King doesn’t necessarily have a single standout at receiver, splitting catches pretty thoroughly between his top four receivers and running back Jamal Haynes. Haynes has run for more than 700 yards this season.
Still, it’ll be a tall task for Georgia Tech to pull the upset, as the early point spread indicates.
