On3 Consensus 4-star offensive lineman Jaydon Chatman committed to the Texas Longhorns Sunday.

The No. 92-ranked prospect in the On300 selected Texas over Oklahoma, Texas A&M and LSU. Chatman made an official visit to Texas over the weekend prior to announcing his commitment. The CenTex budding star made official visits to Oklahoma, Texas A&M and LSU in June, in addition to Texas.

Chatman, 6-foot-4, 285-pounds, was offered by Texas September 18 of 2021. The offer from the Longhorns was Chatman’s first offer. Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood built the strongest relationship with Chatman throughout the process.

The Longhorns held a commanding lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine over Oklahoma prior to Chatman’s announcement.

Texas moves to No. 5 ranked class with Chatman

The Longhorns vaulted to the No. 7 ranked class in the On3 Consensus team ranking Thursday with the commitment of No. 1 overall prospect Arch Manning. Texas sported 12 commitments prior to Chatman’s announcement. Along with On3 Consensus five-star Manning, Texas class features eight more consensus four-star prospects.

With Manning in the fold, a second straight top five class looks like a slam dunk. The Texas weekend official visitor list included 10 four-star prospects.

Texas has landed offensive line commits Sunday from Chatman, Connor Stroh and Andre Cojoe. The Longhorns are also in the hunt to flip TCU verbal Trevor Goosby.

On3 ranks Chatman inside the top 100 of the 2023 On300 ranking, slotting in at No. 92 overall and as the No. 7 interior offensive lineman in the class. He is the No. 292 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
