Kansas State defender Ryan Davis ejected for late hit, targeting
Kansas State defensive end Ryan Davis has been ejected in the first quarter of Saturday’s game due to a late hit to the helmet of Utah quarterback Devon Dampier.
As Dampier sat on the ground after the play, Davis launched helmet first into him. As a result, Davis will miss the remainder of Saturday’s game.

Davis, a sophomore from Phoenix, AZ, has recorded seven tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble in six games this season.
“If you’re gonna beat a really good Utah team, you’ve got to start by not beating yourself,” ESPN‘s Brock Osweiler said on the broadcast. “Right now, keep an eye at the top of your screen as No. 52 comes in. I mean that is just way too easy for the officials. It’s not a smart play. It’s unnecessary. It’s clear as day that Dampier is going down, and now one of the best pass rushers for Kansas State will be ejected for targeting.”
